To colorize grayscale images in page-layout programs, you must first change the image format in Photoshop To do so, choose Image | Mode | Grayscale Photoshop will ask you if you would like to flatten your image If your intent is to colorize this image in another program, I recommend flattening your image because doing so will make your file smaller and easier for another program to process If you need those layers, consider saving a copy of the file in Photoshop format before changing the image mode After changing the image mode, choose File | Save As and select the TIFF file format

In the figure, the Available Space in the tablespace is reported as 32GB This is clearly incorrect, because the Allocated Space, as displayed in Figure 5-3, is only 100MB The answer lies in datafile autoextension If AUTOEXTEND is enabled for a datafile and no MAXSIZE is specified, then the file can grow to a platform-dependent limit, in this case 32GB Of course, this says nothing about whether the file system has room for a file that size The alert system uses the maximum possible size of the tablespace as the basis for its calculations, which is meaningless if the tablespace s datafiles were created with the syntax AUTOEXTEND ON MAXSIZE UMLIMITED, or if a MAXSIZE was not specified It should be apparent that when using automatic extension, it is good practice to set a maximum limit This can be done from the command line with an ALTER DATABASE command, or through Database Control PART I

DROP TABLESPACE tablespacename [INCLUDING CONTENTS [AND DATAFILES] ] ;

If the INCLUDING CONTENTS keywords are not specified, the drop will fail if there are any objects in the tablespace Using these keywords instructs Oracle to drop the objects first, and then to drop the tablespace Even this will fail in some circumstances, such as if the tablespace contains a table that is the parent in a foreign key relationship with a table in another tablespace If the AND DATAFILES keywords are not specified, the tablespace and its contents will be dropped but the datafiles will continue to exist on disk Oracle will know nothing about them anymore, and they will have to be deleted with operating system commands TIP On Windows systems, you may find the datafiles are still there after using the INCLUDING CONTENTS AND DATAFILES clause This is because of the way Windows flags files as locked It may be necessary to stop the Windows Oracle service (called something like OracleServiceORCL) before you can delete the files manually
